Collaborations with Worms

When “collaborating with worms,” I combine ceramics and wood with materials that have been made or altered by larvae. Some works feature paper pulp forms that have been eaten by larval beetles, while others feature silk that was produced by the larvae of the silk moth, grown from eggs and harvested in my home. These “collaborations” are a meditation on the themes of symbiosis/exploitation and collectivism/rugged individualism as they relate to reproductive labor, and concepts of value.
