I pursue art making as analysis in an effort to experiment without hypothesis. My methodology has developed directly out of a sensual relationship to material as well as a psuedo-scientific investigation of phenomena.
I work by collecting scraps of various non-art and fine art materials, from discarded plastic packaging to printmaking paper. These materials are transformed and/or decontextualized via formal arrangements and playful juxtapositions. This approach allows my studio practice to become a means of sorting out, both materially and conceptually. The resultant objects and installations serve as documents of this process.
